Warm and welcoming, we're at the heart of Aberdeenshire in the rural, peaceful setting of Udny. We offer the best in speciality coffees, teas and hearty meals made from local produce, alongside delicious home baked cakes and treats.
We absolutely love coffee and are incredibly passionate about sharing our knowledge for one of world's most popular drinks.
Our passion has taken us all over the world where we have tried and tested some of the best coffees out there. There is a lifetime's worth of information available about coffee so let's just scratch the surface here with a bit of information about coffee in general and about how we use it.
Without food, life stops, but we also believe life should stop for food! At The Coffee Apothecary we aim to bring the best local produce to your plate with minimum fuss and maximum flavour.
Our delicious and varied breakfasts, lunches and of course cakes and fine pieces are made on site from scratch using locally sourced suppliers wherever possible. We build relationships with a small number of farmers who lovingly grow the most amazing organic vegetables or rear incredible, free range, happy animals.
If you don't have time to stop, don't worry, we can package up almost anything for you to take away.
We're Jonny and Ali, the husband and wife team that own The Coffee Apothecary.
We met, fell in love and got married in Edinburgh before shooting off on a three
year round the world adventure.
During this time we discovered what coffee should be! We tried so many new, interesting and occasionally crazy flavours and got excited by the idea of running a café when we returned to Scotland.
We didn't imagine that our story would include an old rural Post Office in Aberdeenshire, but we're happy it did. You will no doubt see us in the café so grab a chat and join in the story.
We pursue the highest possible standards in everything we serve, and believe in treating everyone in our supply chain with equal fairness and opportunity. That’s why we use directly traded, speciality grade coffee that can be fully traced back to it's plantation field. We also source organic produce from the local area whenever possible.
