While we pursue the highest possible standards in everything we make, we refuse to let that mean that there is any possibility that someone was not treated fairly in doing so. Therefore we source everything as locally as possible, building relationships with a small number of farmers who lovingly grow the most amazing organic vegetables or rear incredible, free range, happy animals.
Unfortunately the Aberdeenshire climate is not conducive to growing coffee, tea or cocoa beans. Countless hours have been spent researching the whole supply chain from the far away farmers in their fields to the numerous processing stages on the way to your cup.
We are proud to have our coffee supplied by Artisan Roast in Edinburgh. They employ a coffee hunter who is constantly travelling all over the world searching out exceptional coffees, meeting the farmers who grow the beans and creating and maintaining the relationships with them. They aim to help these farmers not only grow the finest coffee possible for your cup, but to ensure that it is produced in a sustainable and ethical way.
Our tea, provided by Eteaket of Edinburgh, and our hot chocolate from Coco, also in Edinburgh are sourced using the same principles.
